Lunch at the Beach

....And we're back! The camera is fine. You know when you take your car into the shop and tell them you hear a rattle or a funny sound, and they take it out and they don't hear it? Yeah, that's what happened with the camera. I was showing it to Jason, insisting that it was broken, and he turned it right on. Typical.

A whole year living in New Hampshire and we still had not been to ANY beaches. We had plans with friends Alli and Brooke and we decided it would be fun to go to Spofford Lake beach. Not the ocean....but still a beach. So we set out on an "iffy" at best day. It was mostly cloudy. By mostly cloudy, I mean sun poking through the clouds and providing warmth every 20 minutes or so. We had packed lunches and were ready for a fun day at the beach. When we got there, it was a bit chilly. That didn't stop Jackson from donning his water wings and bathing suit and sprinting to the water. Coop and Brooke were a little more timid as far as swimming went. Cooper waded a bit, but he and Brooke stayed safely on shore for a good part of the trip building and destroying sand castles.

Jackson immediately swam out to where some boys were playing and introduced himself. He is quite the social butterfly...."Hi, I'm Jackson. Do you want to play?" So he ended up playing for most of the time with these other kids. Don't know what they were playing, but I did occasionally hear Jackson trying to change the rules to whatever game it was.

Cooper did decide after a bit to get in the water, but he still had his clothes on Soaked. I was finally able to lure him to put on his suit, though. Brooke warmed up to the water as well, and they chased each other around the shore splashing and laughing it up.
